Technology 4th-Ms. L. Mata Assignments

Objective: The students will practice keyboarding with a story to get the scores for WPM, Accuracy and duration.

1. Login to typingclub.com( Click on the link below)
2. Go to Typing Jungle at the top by the bookmark.
3. Scroll down and select Sam and Luna. This story has 4 chapters and each chapter has 4 lessons.
4. Student will be able to record their scores for each lesson.
5. Share your Lessons with your teacher for a Tech grade.

Objective: Students will be testing their abilities as they challenge each other with trivia associated with science, history, technology, and math.
1. Students will be challenging each others knowledge with the game of Kahoots- trivia game. 
2. Students will be using their knowledge from science, math, technology, and history as they respond to questions.
3. Students ranking in 1st place will be added to a list and the one with the most 1st place wins will get a prize.
4. It will be a game of fun, challenge, knowledge, and friendship.

Objective: Students are to review skills that they have used before like coding, robotics and keyboarding.

2. Type in Joe Lost on Search area once your in if you can't login with the link below.
3. Students are to work in collaborative groups on robotics. Use Dot as your Robot for today. The following lessons will be completed today. 
      #Students using the robots-(Dash) will work with the following challenge cards. Three Groups of Robots- Group 1- Sequences 2.1, 2.2/ Group 2 Sequences 2.3, Loops 3.1/ and Group 3- Loops 
         2.2, 2.1

Objectives: A). The Students will identify strategies for determining who creates information online. B).The students will define credibility, conflict of interest, and native advertising. C).The students will analyze websites and articles intended to device and explain the importance of applying these analytical practices consistently.

2. Follow along as you work with your teacher and class. Do not get ahead of the class.
3. Student will be graded on the activities and lessons in Nearpod.

Objective: Student will use critical thinking, decision making and problem solving when coding the robots.
1. Students must follow the instructions on the cards that are assigned with each Dash robot.
2. Students will work in groups to read each card, use problem solving skills  to make critical decisions to make the Dash robots complete the instructions on the challenge cards.
3. Students will use coding to complete the activities on the challenge cards.
4. Students will work in their assigned groups.
5. Students will rotate every 15 minutes.
6. Group 1- Challenge Cards 1.1 Sequences, 1.2 Sequences, and 1.3 Sequences
     Group 2- Challenge cards 3.2 Loops and 3.3 Loops
7. The other groups 3, 4, and 5 will work on Nearpod- Robots without Humans Independently/ on your own.

1. Students will break into groups and work on the challenge cards assigned to their group. 
2. Students must follow the instructions on the challenge cards that are assigned with each robot.
3. Students will work in groups to read each challenge card, use problem solving skills  to make critical decisions to make the robots complete the instructions on the cards.
4. Students will use coding to complete the activities on the challenge cards.

5. Students will rotate through each group every 15 minutes.

1. In this lesson the student will identify characteristics of a cyberbully and things that a person can do to protect themselves or friends and family.

Objective: TSW use google slides to create a "Thank You Card" for our donor.

3. Be sure to be very careful with the grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Objective: The students will compare a society with and without self autonomous robots.
Objective: Students will discuss pros and cons in Robots without Humans on Nearpod.

2. Discuss life without Humans but dominated by robots.

Objective: The student will use google slides to create a short presentation of what they are thankful for in their lives.

Essential Question: Why is sequence important in coding?
1. Students will learn the importance of sequencing and looping to use during coding.

2. Students will learn new vocabulary words and the meaning of these words and the use in computer science: sequence, loop, program
3. Students will work with vocabulary and activities that deal with coding using sequence, loop and programming.
