Meet Our 6th Grade Teacher

Hello, St. Pius X family, it is great to be part of this amazing community! My name is Rosana Lopez, and I am excited to be teaching 6th grade this year at St. Pius X Catholic School. I earned my Undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and a certificate in Biotechnology from Del Mar College; I am a Texas-certified teacher in grades 4-8. My passion for science comes from a lifelong curiosity about the natural world and a love for helping students discover how science connects to their everyday lives.

Before joining St. Pius X, I worked for Odem ISD for 8 years and have been an online teacher/tutor for 7 years for a variety of companies. I enjoy creating hands-on, engaging lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. I strive to make the classroom a place where students can feel excited to learn and grow.

As an educator in a Catholic school community, I look forward to supporting students not just academically but also spiritually and emotionally by fostering kindness, respect, and compassion in the classroom. A fun fact about me is that I was the first girl altar server with Father Paul at Sacred Heart in Odem back in 1994!  I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the St. Pius X family and look forward to a wonderful school year.
