Dear St. Pius X Community,
Three years ago, we started something together, a conversation about how technology shapes our children. Year one, we explored technology and the developing brain. Last year, we dove into executive functioning. And the thread through all of it has been the same: our children are changing, academically and socially, and we owe them more than just noticing it.
This is a continuing conversation, not a one-off lecture, and I hope you've felt that. Each year, a few more families leave with practical, compassionate tools for the way screens show up in daily life.
That's why I'm thrilled to invite you back for our Year 3 Smart Families parent education night:
-
"Growing Whole Kids" The Hidden Connection Between Screens, Balance, Bodies, and Behaviors.
-
Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM in Msgr. Shirley Youth Center (childcare provided in the Cafe)
-
Our keynote this year is Beth Polito, a veteran educator, speaker, and teen coach with more than three decades of experience helping young people discover their strengths and reach their full potential. She'll walk us through how technology touches our children's sensory systems, emotional wellness, and executive functioning and how all of that shows up in their behaviors, their health, and their growth.
Whether you were with us last year or this is your first time, I hope you'll come. Last year's conversation did something. Let's keep it going — for the whole children in front of us.
See you on the 17th
