Second Grade
My name is Alyssa Thomas, and I teach second grade. I love being a part of the Saint Pius X family. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an English specialization from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Our school mission is to develop the whole child in a Christ-centered environment to become a loving, productive citizen in today's world. Every day I strive to fulfill this mission by maximizing student performance, instilling a positive sense of self-worth through student accomplishment, and inspiring interests in all aspects of learning while bearing witness to the presence and love of Christ among us.
Second grade is a special year at Saint Pius X because students receive two sacraments. Preparing students for their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is especially rewarding. I love seeing the light of Christ shine in my students every day.
