St. Pius X Catholic School has been providing an excellent Catholic education for thousands of students since opening its doors in 1966. A strong and challenging curriculum, integrated with Gospel values, provides our students with the solid foundation necessary to succeed in life. Many of our former students who have become doctors, lawyers, dentists, educators, and nurses are now sending their children to St. Pius X Catholic School. They want the same quality education for their own children. Most can attest to the fact that the safe and loving environment provided by the teachers and staff enables children to grow and flourish, both spiritually and academically.
This past October, our school was notified that it had been named a 2007 - No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School, an award given to 287 excellent schools across the nation by the U. S. Department of Education. St. Pius X Catholic School was the only school in Corpus Christi to receive the award, and one of 24 schools in Texas. Margaret Spellings, the Secretary of Education, called our school a “national model of excellence from which others can learn.” Governor Rick Perry commended our school for the award in a letter stating, “In earning this grand recognition, you have demonstrated your commitment to being among the best of the best.”
There are many reasons why St. Pius X Catholic School was chosen for this prestigious educational award. Consistently high standardized test scores, a developmentally-appropriate early childhood program, enriched reading and math classes, a wonderful religious education program, and an outstanding physical education program are all part of our school’s success. Factor in outstanding teachers and involved, supportive parents who work together as a team, and you have a Blue Ribbon school. We are committed to continuing this tradition of excellence for the 2008-2009 school year. Our pre-registration dates are as follows:
Feb. 18 Currently-enrolled parishioners Feb. 21 Currently-enrolled non parishioners Feb. 25 Parishioners Feb. 28 Public
