Technology is an important part of our curriculum; it is a way of life that opens windows to a wider world. We are constantly working on our technology goal of "empowering administrators, staff and students through the use of technology, with an understanding of the implications of its use in today's society."
The faculty, staff, and school community have made a special effort to ensure that technology enriches the already outstanding education provided by St. Pius X. In 2005-06, the school was awarded a $28,000 grant by the Kenedy Memorial Foundation. This grant, plus a Diocesan Technology grant, enabled the school to purchase 40 new computers for the school. At the present time every classroom has at least four to five computers, as well as printers and scanners and access to Alpha Smarts. Each classroom is networked and has wireless intranet/internet access. Thanks to a previous Kenedy Memorial Foundation grant, the school has a wireless mobile computer lab of twenty laptop computers that are used to teach computer skills to the students in their classrooms. The school also has several digital cameras, as well as a digital camcorder that is used to broadcast daily morning announcements.
We believe it is essential that students receive the knowledge and skills that they will need in order to become successful citizens in an ever-advancing technological society.
