Spirituality is integrated throughout the daily curriculum. Students have daily lessons in Catholic doctrine, and attend Mass weekly on Fridays where they serve as gift bearers, altar servers, lectors, cantors and choir members. They also attend weekly lessons in the school's Atrium, where the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program is taught. This is a hands-on Montessori method of teaching children all about Jesus - where he was born, raised and later preached. Students also learn about the Books of the Bible, the Parables, and the articles of our Catholic faith. They better understand the parts of the Mass after learning about liturgical seasons, the clothing that the priests wear, and the vessels that are used in Mass.

Students also participate in special liturgies throughout the school year such as Living Rosaries, Stations of the Cross, the May Crowning and Reconciliation services. A special emphasis is placed on Gospel Values and Social Justice. Service projects include: the Christmas Giving Tree, the Salvation Army Canteen, get-well cards for the ill and sympathy cards for the bereaved, Thanksgiving baskets for the poor, clothing and sock collections for the needy, and toiletry items for the homeless. They also raise several thousand dollars each year for St. Jude's Hospital through the St. Jude Math-A-Thon. A special "Cans for Kids" collection netted several hundred dollars for Driscoll Children's Hospital this past year. It was the brainchild of one of our sixth grade boys who wanted to do something for sick children in our area.

A strong academic program is a "must" for any school. At St. Pius X School, a strong spiritual foundation is considered a "must" also, and is therefore integrated into the curriculum so that when students leave us, they have learned not only how to make it through life, but more importantly, how to get to Heaven!
